Muller Time

 

We enjoyed some Muller time this past weekend. We were able to all get together Saturday night and then headed to the Henry Doorly Zoo on Sunday. It was a wet day, but it's a great zoo with several indoor exhibits (ignore all the bad hair from the rain).

Lauren's trip to Wyoming

 

Over Memorial Day Weekend, Lauren was lucky to take a trip to the cabin with Papa Rich and Nana Kathy. She had a blast. Lauren is happiest when she is outside or with any animals, so Wyoming is always a hit with her (if it were only a quick 30 minutes away). She had a animal tracks book that she had been reading, so she was super excited when she found some moose poop!!!! Then she saw a moose the next day! She kept a list of all of the animals that she saw, including moose, elk, antelope, deer, prairie dogs, turkeys, snake, grouse, beaver and ducks.

 

She also enjoyed time with Nana and Papa, going on hikes, sight-seeing...

 

helping around the cabin, planting grasses and flowers...

 

riding and driving the 4-wheeler...

 

camp-fires...

You had a great time and we are happy that you love to go out there. Thanks for the memories Papa and Nana!!!

Last Day of First Grade!!!

It's hard to believe that you already finished 1st Grade (last day on May 23rd)! You loved it and were very sad on your last day. "I wish I could go to school all summer!" You love your friends and will miss seeing them almost everyday. It seems just like yesterday that it was your 1st Day of 1st Grade. Lauren, we are so proud of you!

Parent Night at Gymnastics

We enjoyed Parent Night at Gymnastics this week! The girls go at the same time, which is great, but a little hard on a Parent Night to keep track of both at the same time. Lauren has her back to you with the black, blue and green leotard. Meredith is to the right of her getting ready to do a summersault with a black with long pink sleeved leotard on. It was a fun night. They showed us all of their fun activities!!!

Clay is such a sport. He did all the parent participation this time :)  The girls loved it!!! A hanging competition with Meredith on  the bar.

 

He gave Lauren quite the battle on this one. She wouldn't give up at all. She got quite the upper body workout. He finally let her win.

Another hanging competition. Meredith doesn't have the same competitive streak yet. She is such a wiggle worm that she more or less knocks herself off of the bar from all of the moves she tries to do :)

Trying to keep up....

I am not doing well with keeping up to date. Here are a few things that have kept us busy lately.

We celebrated Clay's 36th birthday...

 

Meredith picked her "favorite flower" whenever she could find them...

 

I went with Lauren and her class on their field trip to the zoo...

Really? Is this May? A few pictures from the 1st day of snow (there was much more later that I didn't take pictures of). It continued for over 2 days and then turned to rain! The girls were happy...my husband, not so much!

 

Exactly a year ago I was with Lauren here. What a difference a year makes!



April

The last 2 weeks Lauren has had 6 birthday parties!!! We were lucky to have ALL the Govig cousins together to celebrate Eli and Kyler's birthdays! Here they all are at Eli's party.

Back: Meredith (3 1/2), Kale (1 1/2) and Lauren (7).

Meredith has been taking swimming lessons the last 2 1/2 months. She has no fear of the water, so she needed to learn how to swim. Here she is jumping off of the platform. I have a video of her jumping off of the diving board, but I will have to post is a little later.

After she jumped off of the platform, her teacher asked her if she wanted to jump off of the diving board...without a skipping a beat.."YES".

Lauren lost tooth #10. It was at school so she was thrilled to come home with her tooth in the treasure chest they get.
