Trying to keep up....

I am not doing well with keeping up to date. Here are a few things that have kept us busy lately.

We celebrated Clay's 36th birthday...

 

Meredith picked her "favorite flower" whenever she could find them...

 

I went with Lauren and her class on their field trip to the zoo...

 

Celebrated Melanie's 35th birthday....

 

Soccer...soccer...soccer!!!

 

Tonight we have Parent Night at Gymnastics so more pictures to come.....

Are you kidding me???

Really? Is this May? A few pictures from the 1st day of snow (there was much more later that I didn't take pictures of). It continued for over 2 days and then turned to rain! The girls were happy...my husband, not so much!

 

Exactly a year ago I was with Lauren here. What a difference a year makes!



April

The last 2 weeks Lauren has had 6 birthday parties!!! We were lucky to have ALL the Govig cousins together to celebrate Eli and Kyler's birthdays! Here they all are at Eli's party.

Meredith has been taking swimming lessons the last 2 1/2 months. She has no fear of the water, so she needed to learn how to swim. Here she is jumping off of the platform. I have a video of her jumping off of the diving board, but I will have to post is a little later.

After she jumped off of the platform, her teacher asked her if she wanted to jump off of the diving board...without a skipping a beat.."YES".

Lauren lost tooth #10. It was at school so she was thrilled to come home with her tooth in the treasure chest they get.

Spring Break!

We took a last minute trip out to the cabin for Spring Break. Disclaimer: these pictures may appear like the perfect family vacation...the first half of the trip included 2 girls who complained and did not want to make the long car ride, 2 parents who almost turned the car around twice to return home, a 3 year old who refused to sleep every night and one exhausted mother who stayed up with her. The second half is what you see below :)

We enjoyed playing some games, reading books, the girls playing in the cabin, watching the snow fall/blow...

 

 

4-wheeler rides from Dad (the girls thought the goggles helped from the pelting snow)..

 

a hike through the property to follow deer tracks...

 

and a successful attempt to get Lauren up on skis. Lauren and Clay went skiing in the morning and we met them for lunch. After lunch, Lauren wanted to show us what she had learned. Meredith insisted on wearing her own goggles!



 

The conditions weren't spectacular, but Lauren didn't seem to mind.

Way to go Lauren! We are so proud of you! The fear disappeared and it was a successful day! Clay is a wonderful teacher and they had a blast together. Then I took the girls and Clay enjoyed some more difficult slopes in the afternoon! It ended being a great trip and we are so happy to be able to enjoy the cabin! Thanks Dad and Mom!

Quick Catch-Up

A little behind in my posts (sorry), so here is a quick catch-up from January and part of February. We have perfected several train tracks.

 

Our house has turned into Lego Friends Land

Lauren lost tooth # 8 (incisor on top right)

 and tooth #9 (canine on bottom right)

 

Meredith has been practicing her writing (Why did we give her such a long name? What were we thinking?)

 

Both girls went to the Daddy/Daughter Dance. Meredith had a blast and danced and danced! Lauren was a little too grown up and shy to dance this year, but enjoyed the crafts and shooting hoops in the gym instead.
