We're off to see.....

The girls had so much fun on Beggar's Night! We created an ensemble with our neighbors! How cute are they?!
Front: Witch (Makenna Champlin), Dorothy (Lauren), Scarecrow (Meredith).
Back: Lion (Bella Fahey) and Tin Man (Hannah Fahey).

Lauren was such a patient trick - or -treater with the 3 younger girls. After an hour we came back to our house, Clay took her and she flew through the neighborhood!

I don't know what Lauren was more excited about, getting candy or taking Lilly, posing as Toto, (the Fahey's dog and Lauren's BFF) with her.

Meredith had so much fun with trick-or-treating this year! She was so excited when they would give her candy. She would turn around and show me the piece of candy, "Wook! Day gave me a piece of candy! I put it in my bucket!". She kept saying this...going to someones house and getting a piece a candy was a fantastic concept to her! She was a real trooper and walked around our cul-de-sac and down 2 blocks and back up 2 blocks. She loved it! Here she is helping the lion!

San Antonio

Clay and I took a quick weekend trip to San Antonio. We wanted to get away to celebrate our 10th anniversary. San Antonio is such a fun town! We enjoyed a Brazilian Steakhouse, amazing food food, the Riverwalk and the Alamo! Below is the Riverwalk.
I loved the Mexican culture and the Market Square. This was my favorite place! I loved all the little shops, the music and had the best Mexican food, EVER!

Our hotel lobby.
The Alamo.

Isn't this THE best sombrero.

The Tower of Americas.

We were also able to spend time with Clay's cousin, Dan who lives in San Antonio. We enjoyed our personal tour guide!

Happy Birthday Mom!

I have THE best mom in the entire world! Thank you for being you! I love everything about you!

Quote of the Day

Lauren (very matter of factly):  Mom, did you know that I am 37 days smarter now?

Pumpkin Patch

After Lauren's soccer game, we made a trip to the the Pumpkin Patch! Nana Kathy, Nana Muller, Jennifer, Jillian and Peter joined us for all the exciting fun!!! So much fun to be had here...the animals to pet, pony rides, corn maze, tractor/wagon ride, slide, corn pile, hay bales, animals to climb on, tractors to ride, chickens, one of a kind pumpkins, popcorn, good ole fun! The 4 Muller cousins (Jillian, Peter, Lauren and Meredith).

Meredith climbed right up, stuck her head through, smiled and posed forever!!! She cracks me up!
Meredith, Lauren and Jillian heading up to the patch.
The huge corn pit was a hit...I think the girls would have played in there all day if we would have let them.
Meredith acted like she was "swimming" in the corn and in true Meredith style decided to taste it too!

Lauren & Peter.
Lauren has been asking us to ride a horse for the last 6 months. She was so excited to ride "J.J". Especially after her friend Izzy rode the same one.
No fear for these girls! Meredith on "Lady".  I hold on so I don't fall...she says.
Yes, Meredith is yelling, "Yee-Haw!"
Walking through the pumpkin patch.
Lauren found her pumpkin.
Lauren's favorite part next to the pony ride....cleaning the pumpkins off!

A quick catch-up!

Clay's crazy 11 1/2ft corn stalk, which grew in our garden this year!
Lauren lost tooth #3 (it fell out in her mouth while eating breakfast)
and #4 (while playing catch with Meredith..pretty sure the 2 teeth coming in pushed them out)
Meredith got into my makeup
Soccer...Soccer...Soccer....Lauren is a great defensive player and loves playing soccer.

Kale Beckett Govig

...arrived on September 8th weighing 8 lbs 10 oz and measuring 22 1/2 inches long. We are so happy for Kale to join our crazy fun-loving Govig family! The girls and I headed up to Sioux Center last weekend after Lauren's soccer game to meet Kale.

Lauren with Cousin Kale (sorry for all the torture Kale). We just love you so much!!!

Our attempt of a photo shoot!  Kyler, Kale, Lauren and Meredith.

Meredith said she wanted to hold Kale and sat very very still while she held him! Way to go Mer!

Busy coloring.

I am very happy with the canvas that I made for Kale too!

After meeting the newest Govig, we went to Great Grams Govig and Great Aunt Rosie's house for the night. Lauren was in heaven with the 2 dogs and Meredith was in heaven with all the good food and live audience for her to entertain! It was wonderful relaxing and catching up with Grams and Rosie! Thanks for the hospitality!

After spending equal amounts of time driving and reaching behind me to pass out food, Kleenex, drinks, books, etch-a-sketch, Ellie, blankets, etc and disgusting interstate bathroom experiences...we finally arrived home. I was exhausted and happy to be home. My mother tells me that someday I will laugh at all of this, but not just yet....Meredith, I LOVE you to pieces, but I hate taking you to public restrooms...actually I hate getting you in/out of the car. You insist on standing while having your diaper changed (since this is how they do it at daycare) which is ok since I have now perfected this changing technique and I don't mind it especially in public restrooms...except you pooped...8 times in 24hrs!!! I can't clean you adequately when you stand up!!! You have to lie down (and no she wouldn't). I knew it was coming since you hadn't gone in 2 days. Meredith...I also don't find it funny when you think it is a game to see how far back in the vehicle you can get without anyone getting a hold of you. I am sure it was quite a site watching be pull you from behind the 3rd row that you somehow wedged yourself into and pulling you up to your car seat and ending your 10-15 minute game of "can't catch me" by putting you in your car seat...against your will.  Yes, mom...someday I will laugh at this...when Meredith tells me this same story! Pay backs are hell, huh? Mom, I glad that we can provide you with laughs...there will be endless amounts of them I am sure! That's why Meredith is here...to make us laugh!!!
